What Is Culinary Matcha?

Culinary matcha is Japanese matcha made specifically for cooking, baking, and blended drinks. At Iki Matcha, our culinary grade matcha comes from the same JAS-certified organic farms in Kagoshima, Japan as our ceremonial range the difference is the harvest. Culinary matcha uses slightly later-harvest leaves, giving it a bolder, more robust flavour that holds its own against milk, sugar, butter, and other strong ingredients.

That strength is exactly what you want in the kitchen. Where ceremonial matcha is delicate and best whisked with water alone, culinary matcha keeps its vibrant green colour and distinct matcha taste in lattes, smoothies, cakes, cookies, and ice cream at a price that makes everyday use easy.

Why Kagoshima Matcha Wins

Kagoshima's nutrient-rich volcanic soil and warm climate produce exceptionally vibrant ceremonial matcha with a naturally smooth taste and rich umami character.
Our ceremonial matcha is sourced exclusively from JAS-certified organic farms, meeting strict standards and grown without synthetic pesticides or chemicals.
Every batch of ceremonial matcha undergoes independent lab testing for heavy metals, pesticides, and contaminants, ensuring purity and consistency.
Traditionally stone-ground at low temperatures to protect delicate antioxidants, chlorophyll, and L-theanine behind ceremonial matcha's signature calm focus.
Directly sourced from Japan and packed for freshness, preserving the bright green colour, aroma, and flavour expected from premium ceremonial matcha powder.
