The Details

Most mornings don't come with three spare minutes and a bamboo whisk.

This one's for those mornings.

Our Ceremonial Matcha Latte mix is a ready-to-mix matcha latte powder combining first-harvest ceremonial matcha with organic coconut sugar from Sri Lanka pre-blended, so all you need is milk. Hot or iced. Shaken or stirred. Ready in under two minutes with no measuring, lightly sweetened, no bitterness, and no compromise on quality.

The matcha is exactly what we use in the ceremonial range: single cultivar, shade-grown, first harvest. The coconut sugar is low GI and organic, adding a natural sweetness that balances the umami without masking it.

The result is a smooth, vibrant matcha latte that tastes like something you'd pay over $7 for at a café. Except it's $1.18 a serve, made in your own kitchen.

Taste & Experience

  • Creamy and smooth with natural sweetness

  • Soft umami balanced by the coconut sugar

  • Vibrant green colour visually as good as it tastes

  • Clean finish, no artificial aftertaste

We test every batch in Australia. Then we publish the numbers.

Before any matcha goes on sale, a batch sample goes to an independent Australian laboratory and is tested for lead, arsenic, cadmium, mercury, methyl mercury, tin, copper and microbial safety. Every heavy metal in our current batch came back below the limit of quantification — meaning the instrument could not detect it at all, not merely that it passed. Almost no matcha brand at any price publishes these results. We do, because the alternative is asking you to take our word for it.

Customer photo review of Kagoshima Ceremonial Matcha Latte Blend

I was spending way too much on matcha lattes. I started making them at home with Iki and now my morning matcha is actually better than most of the ones I was buying.

FROM THE SOURCE

The Farm We Chose And Why

In the volcanic highlands of Kagoshima, at the southern tip of the Japanese archipelago (the furthest distance from environmental toxins). The mineral-rich soil and sharp seasonal temperature fluctuations produce tea leaves of exceptional complexity. The high-altitude cooler temperatures are a natural insect repellent.

The JAS-certified farm we source from has been growing tencha for over seven generations. Every bag is traceable to one region, one season, one standard.

Exceptional Quality

Exceptional Quality

Before harvest, tea plants are covered to restrict sunlight. This stresses the plant into producing exceptional levels of L-theanine, the amino acid behind matcha's calm, focused energy.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Matcha latte powder is a ready-to-mix blend of matcha and a complementary sweetener — in our case, first-harvest ceremonial matcha combined with organic coconut sugar. Pure matcha is unsweetened and designed to be whisked with water. A matcha latte blend is formulated specifically to taste balanced and smooth when mixed with milk, so you get a café-quality latte at home without adjusting sweetness yourself.

  • Add one teaspoon (roughly 3g) of the latte blend to a cup. Pour in 30ml of hot water (around 80°C, not boiling) and whisk or stir until smooth. Top with 150–200ml of steamed or frothed milk — oat milk works particularly well. For an iced matcha latte, whisk the matcha with the hot water first, then pour over ice and cold milk.

  • Oat milk is widely considered the best pairing — its natural sweetness and creamy texture complement matcha without overpowering it. Coconut milk and almond milk also work well. Full-cream dairy milk is rich and froths easily but can mask matcha's more delicate flavours. Avoid skim milk, which tends to produce a thin, watery result.

  • Yes, lightly. It contains organic coconut sugar for a gentle sweetness that balances the matcha without making the drink sugary. Most people find they do not need to add any additional sweetener. If you prefer completely unsweetened matcha, choose our pure Kagoshima Ceremonial Matcha instead.

  • One serve (3g of blend) contains approximately 30–35mg of caffeine — roughly a quarter of a standard coffee. The L-theanine in the matcha slows caffeine absorption, giving you calm, sustained energy for 4–6 hours without a crash. Most people can comfortably enjoy two matcha lattes per day.

  • Absolutely — it is one of the best uses. Whisk one teaspoon of the blend with 30ml of hot water until fully dissolved (this step is important — matcha does not dissolve in cold water alone). Pour over a glass of ice, top with cold milk, and stir. The latte blend's built-in sweetness means it tastes balanced cold without any syrup.

  • At the recommended 3g per latte, you get approximately 33 serves from a 100g bag. That works out to under $1.80 per café-quality matcha latte — compared to $6–8 at most Australian cafés.

  • Yes. Both ingredients — the first-harvest Kagoshima matcha and the coconut sugar — are certified organic. The matcha is JAS-certified (Japanese Agricultural Standard) and independently lab-tested in Australia.

  • You can, but keep in mind it contains coconut sugar, which will add sweetness. For baking and smoothies where you want to control sweetness separately, our Pure Organic Culinary Matcha Powder is a better choice — it is unsweetened and has a stronger flavour that holds up in recipes.

  • Most café matcha lattes in Australia use culinary-grade matcha with added sugar or syrup. Ours uses first-harvest ceremonial matcha, so the flavour is smoother, sweeter and less bitter — with a natural umami depth you will not get from a standard café blend. The coconut sugar adds warmth rather than sharpness, so it tastes more balanced than syrup-sweetened versions.
