The kit includes: 100-prong bamboo matcha whisk (chasen), bamboo matcha scoop (chashaku), ceramic matcha bowl (chawan), matcha sifter, ceramic whisk holder, matcha canister, and first-harvest Kagoshima ceremonial matcha — plus everything else you need to perform a traditional matcha preparation from the moment the box arrives.
Yes — it is designed to take someone from never having made matcha to preparing a proper ceremonial bowl. Every tool is included so you do not need to buy anything separately. Our how to make matcha guide walks you through the first bowl step by step.
The 10 Piece Ritual Kit is the complete ceremony — it includes the matcha bowl, whisk holder, sifter and carry-bag that the Starter Kit omits. Choose the Starter Kit if you want the basics at a lower price point. Choose the Ritual Kit if you want every traditional tool in one box with nothing left to source.
The kit includes our first-harvest Kagoshima Ceremonial Matcha — the same JAS-certified organic, lab-tested matcha we sell on its own. It is not a lower grade or sample — it is the full product.
It is one of our most-gifted products. The complete set arrives in presentation packaging, includes everything the recipient needs, and introduces them to a daily ritual rather than a one-time product. Browse our matcha gifts collection for pairing ideas.
Rinse the bamboo whisk under warm water after each use and dry it on the included whisk holder. Wipe the bamboo scoop with a dry cloth. Hand-wash the ceramic bowl with warm water and mild soap — it is not dishwasher-safe. Keep the canister dry between refills. Full care instructions are included in the box.
The kit includes a full bag of our ceremonial matcha. At the standard 1g per serve, this gives you enough matcha for approximately 30–100 bowls depending on bag size — enough to build the daily habit before you need to reorder.
Yes. The bamboo whisk, bamboo scoop and canisters are all available individually in our matcha accessories collection. The whisk is the only tool that needs periodic replacement (every 2–4 months with daily use) — the rest should last years.
The ceramic bowl is microwave-safe for warming water, but hand-washing is recommended to preserve the glaze and prevent chipping. Do not put it in the dishwasher.
No — the kit is self-contained. The only consumable you will need to reorder is the matcha powder itself. A kettle capable of heating water to 80°C (not boiling) is helpful but not essential — you can let boiled water cool for 2–3 minutes instead.
